Försterkäse: somewhat like brie, this cheese is creamy and pleasant. The cheese hails from...
Blossom Cafe
Blossom Cafe, in the Upper West Side, provides exceptional organic vegan cuisine in a casual setting. If you like chicken, try the Soy Filet Parmesan (pictured here). It sits on a wonderful zesty smoked tomato sauce with melted vegan soy cheese. It also has a great chewy texture and nice crispy breading. If you prefer just the vegetables, try the Portobello Panini, it's always fresh and rich. I admit, I'm a sucker for the sandwiches, they're always hearty and filling. However, Blossom also offers some beautiful entrees like raw Zucchini Linguini with almond pesto. The vegetables are always expertly prepared and never taste "naked".
Blossom Cafe also has refreshing tasty drinks. The vegan shakes are thick and fantastic. I like the Chai, but they have more conventional flavors like chocolate and chocolate peanut butter. They also have an interesting assortment of organic sodas and juice. The Upper West Side location provides a bright, casual, cafe setting but there is also a Chelsea location, which provides a more formal "candlelit" setting. If you find yourself in the Upper West Side craving something fresh and unique, definitely give Blossom a try.
